HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT
- Refine and finalize the design of your 3 characters
- 6 pages of color studies
- The focus is on saturation
- 2 pages of low saturation (desaturated)
- 2 pages of medium saturation
- 2 pages of high saturation (full or close to full saturation)
- Make sure each of your 3 characters gets a low, medium, and high saturation pass
- Decide as a team which saturation range fits the type of game you're making
- Take the all the characters and put them in a lineup with a background
- The background should be in the style you choose
- You can just screen capture a background of your style and use that as a background
- If you decide to take a character(s) to full rendering, you're welcome to
- Make sure as a team that you have the same amount of fully rendered characters so not
one student has way more fully colored rendered characters than the other team members
TIPS
- Keep in mind the tone of your game and choose your saturation level accordingly
- RED = active, BLUE = inactive
- High saturation = Happier mood
- Low saturation = Serious mood
- Choose your value range so your character doesn't feel spotty in contrast
- Where you put you accent colors is where you want the eye to look
- If you character punches a lot, that's a good place to put some accent or where it should have good contrast
